About CETC Testing

  • CTC - Metastatic cancer occurs when cancer spreads from its primary site to other places in the body through the circulatory system or the lymphatic system. In the circulatory system, metastasis may begin via circulating tumour cells (CTCs)—cancer cells that spread through the blood after detaching from a solid tumour and entering the bloodstream. CTC test is a simple blood test that captures, identifies, and counts the number of CTCs in a blood sample to assist physicians in monitoring metastasis.
